Summary: Setra is recalling certain model year 2009-2013 S417, S417TC, and S407CC motorcoaches, manufactured from May 2009 through June 2012. An incorrect routing of the ground wire near the alternator may lead to the chaffing and abrasion of the wire.
Consequence: A damaged alternator ground wire could result in a short circuit and may lead to a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Setra's designated importer, Motor Coach Industries (MCI), will be conducting this recall. MCI will notify owners and will reroute the wiring free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin in mid-December 2012. Owners may contact Motor Coach Industries at 1-502-318-3077.
